International Career Development Conference

The International Career Development Conference (ICDC) is the highlight of the DECA year. Thirteen thousand students, advisors, businesspersons and alumni gather for several days of DECA excitement. Most participants are at ICDC to compete in one of DECA’s competitive events. The top competitors in each event are recognized for their outstanding achievements. In addition to the competitive events many students and advisors participate in tours setup by National DECA.

The success of the International Career Development Conferences largely depends on the recruitment of over 1,000 businesspeople to serve as competitive events judges.

Many state/provincial associations and chapters bring local business people, parents and administrators to the International Career Development Conferences. One great way for them to experience the unique atmosphere of the conference is by serving as a judge for the competitive events program. Please distribute the attached materials (all may be photocopied) to individuals attending the International conferences and encourage them to participate as judges. Once their participation is confirmed, please forward the forms to DECA Inc. prior to the conferences. We will follow-up to those individuals with additional information leading up to the conferences.

ICDC Information From The MN Association

Once the state conference has concluded, please e-mail Jackie immediately at jackie@tekstar.com if you have a student that has qualified to attend and will NOT be attending, OR has qualified in two events and has selected an event. This must be done within 48 hours of the conclusion of the awards ceremony. This is to help everyone facilitate with travel arrangements.
