Steve Dickerman
steve.dickerman@mndeca.org
State President

My name is Steve Dickerman; I am a senior at Owatonna High School. I am in concert band, pep band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, golf, and, of course, DECA. I love music; I play acoustic guitar avidly. I am the writer for my church drama team; I am also in an improv group. My favorite place in Minnesota is Boise Fort Indian Reservation at Lake Vermillion, where I mentor kids. I greatly enjoy meeting new people and am sincerely excited to meet all of you.

One of my greatest values is leadership through service. Leadership, to me, is not defined in position, but in actions. I would like to thank DECA for all it has given me; it is my mission this year to give everything I can back to this outstanding program and its people. If you have any questions or suggestions, please email me as I would love to hear from you.

State Vice President of
Chapter Development

Hello Minnesota DECA! My name is Matt St. Martin, and first I just want to thank you Minnesota DECA for electing me Vice President of Chapter Development. I am so honored and excited to be working for you this year. I am currently a senior at Tartan Senior High SChool in Oakdale. I became a member of this astounding association when I was a sophomore, and I am still extremely passionate by the success offered by this organization. Over my past two years in DECA I have competed in Sales Demonstrations, Food Marketing Management level and Marketing Management series events, and the Learn and Earn Chapter Project. DECA is my main passion, but I am still involved in other extra-curricular activities such as NHS, Freshman Mentor, and a Youth Group. Although this takes up most of my senior year, I still find time to travel with my family and hang out with my friends.

My main goals in life are to attend Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and study in Marketing Management. After that I see myself working in pharmaceutical marketing and long term I would love to be an entrepreneur and start my own business. I have loved every opportunity that DECA has given me. I have learned so much and experienced so much more.

State Vice President of
Business and Industry

Hey everyone! I hope you are all as excited as I am for the up and coming DECA year! My name is Katherine Knight and I am a senior at Rosemount High School. I am enrolled in the general classes, with an emphasis on business and foreign language. In the future, I wish to major in International Business with a minor in French and Spanish. My past DECA accomplishments have been top ten at ICDC in Sports and Entertainment Series, as well as 1st place in at the State Career Development Conference for the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Series event. In my spare time, I enjoy going out with friends, learning, and talking with friends that I have in France.

Throughout all of my high school years, the one thing that has shaped me the most is MN DECA. With all its amazing qualities and opportunities, it has truly guided me to my future career. As a State Action team member, I wish you the best of luck in your DECA events and urge you all to take advantage of everything DECA has to offer. By creating passion and enthusiasm, we can succeed and achieve great things. Additionally it is our responsibility to spread the word about MN DECA and let others know that it really is the most rewarding and fun organization offered. Again, good luck to you and I hope that MN DECA can help you [x]perience the difference!

Sara Dannenberg

State Vice President of Communications

I am a second year DECA member and am the current president of Andover's DECA chapter. As a senior at Andover, I spend much of my time doing school work, preparing for college, but most importantly trying to have fun everyday with friends and family. My family is very important in my life and I value time I get to spend with my sister who is currently a freshman at the U, I love her very much.

Another important thing in my life is dance. I started dance at age 2, and currently dance as a 4-year member of the Varsity Dance Team for Andover High School. In the future, I hope to attend SPU to major in Business Administration: International Business with a double minor in Marketing and Spanish.

Dustin Gillard
dustin.gillard@mndeca.org

State Vice President of
Public Relations

I am Dustin Gillard, the current VP of Public Relations for Minnesota DECA. It is a pleasure to serve you all and the organization. The upcoming year is going to be absolutely great for MN DECA. The association will be expanded and enriched, which means to members a meaningful, memorable, and fun experience at every DECA event you attend and every DECA activity you are a part of.

Heres a little information about myself: I am a senior this year at Austin High School, which is about ten miles north of Iowa. Besides DECA I do a few other activities, including: tennis, table tennis, debate, intramural pin guard, video editing, wakeboarding, and others. When I'm not spending time on those activities, I try to go to most AHS sporting events and cheer on my team. Once high school is done, I plan to attend a university of some sort and study in business with a focus on finance or marketing. Past college and/or grad school, I hope to work for or own a company which changes the world is a positive way.

This year, if you see me at a conference, feel free to talk, voice a concern, or tell me something that really bugs you and you want to see changed with MN DECA. I promise any concern brought to me will be addressed by the entire state action team. This is the active process which will change the organization for better, and I encourage you to be a part of it. I hope your year with MN DECA will be as memorable as it has been for me.
